Wheelchair battery snafu grounds former golf superintendent from boarding flight home

Incident occurs on Day of Persons with Disabilities

A former golf course superintendent from Salmon Arm, B.C. – now a paraplegic following an accident in May of 2021 – was recently denied boarding access to fly home after speaking at the British Columbia Golf Superintendents Association conference in Victoria. He was caught up in red tape due to the battery that powers his wheelchair. The airline has yet to personally apologize to the man. Interestingly, the incident occurred on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
